This course is a joint initiative of the Institute of Mathematics
and Computer Science and Microtech SA.
Our goal is to improve practical skills in embedded systems and prepare for
advanced projects in this area.
The course will be in Polish (or in English on demand).
lectures: Wednesday, 7:30-9:00, C11, room P01
laboratory: guided by Przemyslaw Blaskiewicz
2 written tests:
6.05.2009, 10.06.2009 (there was a mistake here: 9.06 is not a Wednesday)

some electronic teaching material will be available offline
Projektowanie ukladow cyfrowych z wykorzystaniem języka VHDL, Mark Zwoliński
All students have to
(a) pass the written tests,
(b) get a positive grade for the practial assignments.
The final note will be the average of (a) and (b), if (a)>2 and (b)>2.
(Otherwise it will be negative.)
The tests will check understanding, skills and ability of problem solving.
It will consist of short problems (almost test questions)
that will demand certain creativity.
It is not necessary to remember details of algorithms and protocols,
but it will be necessary to understand them well.
Usually, the details which are hard to remember, will be recalled on the
question sheet. It will be allowed to bring own notices, books, ...
The lecture has two goals:
learn about general issues in embedded systems technology,
get some practical experience.
the course is not recommended for the students of the first year. Some general
experience is necessary.
Patience and skills in programming are very helpful.
